Welcome to www.SSC68.com, this website is dedicated to a bunch of kids who grew up under a happy and healthy environment at St. Stephen's College in Stanley during the 60's. St. Stephen's College was unique because of its colourful past history (since 1903) and it was the only English boarding school available in Hong Kong at that time. We, the lucky bunch who lived and studied together, really value the opportunity of being the boarders in this wonderful boarding school. Our parents had put in lot of hard work and energy in providing us with all the comforts and necessities in life. They all had the same goal i.e. wanting the best education for their children. We learned how to take care of ourselves as well as others. We were also joined by overseas students from different countries who brought along their cultures to broaden our horizons. After graduation from St. Stephen's College, most of us further continue our education either locally or overseas. We settled in different parts of the world, with much distance between us. We were all busy with our studies, bringing up our families or pursuing our careers. A lot of us lost contact with each other because of our busy life styles. In the past 36 years, we have experienced ups and downs in life. At the same time we were enriched with experiences as we are all getting closer to middle age, we begin to feel the relief of responsibility that once was upon us. Our children have grown up and are starting their own lives while our careers are established, or for the few of the lucky ones already considering semi-retirement. This has become the time for us to face new changes in life. We should think of enjoying life before it gets too late. With today's technology of website and internet, the distance between us is getting smaller again. I hope through this website, it will become a meeting place or little club house for all of us. A place where we can easily get in contact, communicate, up-date our recent occurrences. Things like how to enjoy life better or to look up our lost friends. We can have lot of chatting or discussion in this Forum. We can exchange our experiences and different interests through the Interest section. In the Photo Gallery, we can view pictures of ours friends, or we can just refresh our memory with old pictures of our school days. For those who enjoy listening to music, the Juke Box is where we have all the "oldies" hits of our time. Most of all, I took the initiation to create a "network of connections" for our children at the Meeting Place. Through this section, we can introduce our children to each other. Let them enjoy and explore their interests, to have more friends, or establish a networking that may give some help to their career or studies. Through this connection the elder generation can pass on their experience and spirit of friendship to next generation, even if they live in a different part of the world and are in a different walk of life or professions. I believe that friends play an important part of our life. We have many friends over the years, but those who we knew since our childhood in the grade school days are so rare. This friendship and bonding have left an unforgettable memory of the "good old days" even after all these years. I sincerely hope that this website will bring back this very special memory as we should treasure it very much. For all friends, let's take advantage of this chance and have a good time!
